Spring, summer, and fall the Karsun Neighborhood Clean-Up Crew was out beautifying Herndon, Virginia. The town is home to Karsun’s corporate headquarters. Focusing their efforts, the crew joined the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway program.

The team was put together by Karsun Cares, an initiative designed to improve employee work-life balance opportunities.  The program includes Karsun Academy, the Karsun Innovation Center, events for Karsun families and opportunities to support the local community.

Karsun Solutions is proud to announce that one of its Directors, Rajaji Bellamkonda, has successfully completed the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council’s (ACT-IAC’s) 2016 Partners Program.  Mr. Bellamkonda was one of 32 participants to undergo a year-long professional development program that prepares senior executives in industry and government for the next level of leadership in their respective organizations.  The ACT-IAC Partners graduated at this year’s Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) held in Williamsburg, VA.  Rajaji follows in the tradition of several Karsun employees graduating from this prestigious program including Co-Founder Sundar Vaidyanathan (Class of 2010), COO Terry Miller (Class of 2010), and Karsun Innovation Center Director Badri Sriraman (Class of 2015).

About Rajaji Bellamkonda

Rajaji Bellamkonda is a Director with Karsun Solutions. He is a strategy and enterprise Information Technology (IT) leader that combines ‘Big Four’ consulting skills with systems integration experience to deliver complex programs. Rajaji is an outcomes-driven Director focused on delivering large scale IT modernization programs in a cost-effective manner while keeping a focus on business development and organizational transformation. Prior to joining Karsun, Rajaji served as a Change Management Lead at Deloitte Consulting and held various leadership positions at Optimos (now Maximus Consulting) and KPMG Consulting. He is a graduate of the ACT-IAC Partners Program and was the Small Business Alliance lead in 2015. Rajaji holds a Master’s Degree in Simulation and Modelling and a Diploma in Management and Leadership Essentials from Harvard Business School.

In July Karsun launched Karsun Academy, an on-site training and certification program for its employees. The two areas of focus initially were AngularJS and AWS certifications. At the conclusion of the most recent program several employees received their AWS Associate or Professional certifications. Karsun offers training for AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certifications.

Karsun Academy is one of several programs offered by Karsun Solutions designed to help employees achieve their personal and professional goals. Karsun families recently enjoyed a day on the farm. Employees and their guests were invited to relax in the country at the Karsun Company Picnic. Families explored the farm, took hayrides and met farm animals.

The outing was part of our monthly event series. These get-togethers include happy hours, brown bag seminars and other celebrations. As part of a culture that nurtures innovators, Karsun seeks opportunities to improve work life balance for our employees through these events. Some activities are specially designed for families of Karsun staff to connect. Children of our employees also recently visited our offices in Herndon, Virginia for Take Your Child to Work Day.

Last Thursday Karsun Solutions joined many other companies across the United States in celebrating Take Your Child to Work Day. They hosted children ages 8 through 13 at their Herndon, Virginia Headquarters. This year’s inaugural event encouraged guests to imagine a world where technology creates exciting jobs, homes, and communities of the future. Using collages and worksheets participants brainstormed solutions to today’s challenges.

 

In the afternoon, Karsun hosted a presentation on the relationship between computers, software, networks and the cloud. Staff led an exercise where kids created their own private game servers on Agar.io. Co-founders Sundar Vaidyanathan and Kartik Mecheri joined a question and answer session on the organization’s role as enterprise modernization experts and government partners. Afterwards, children were invited to tour the office and visit with members of the Karsun team.

    

Events, like Take Your Child to Work Day, are a method to further nurture Karsun’s culture of personal and professional development. They are proud to develop opportunities like these connecting children to STEM careers. Friday, April 8th Karsun celebrated the grand opening of their third Herndon, Virginia office location. Team members have already start settling into the modern office space. Soon the office will hold fifty employees. It is finished in Wink whiteboard paint and inspired employees can literally write their ideas on the walls. They can also utilize two different conference rooms for more formal meetings.

Karsun celebrated company growth and employee birthdays during this time. Co-founder and Managing Partner Sundar Vaidyanathan took the opportunity to share company updates. He announced Terry Miller as Karsun Solutions’ new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
