ALEXANDRIA, VA – The General Services Administration (GSA) awarded the Database and Middleware Support Services (DMS) contract to KHS Technologies, an SBA approved 8(a) Mentor-Protege Joint Venture between Karsun Solutions (Mentor) and Mindcubed (Protege). The contract has a value of $13.9 million over three years. The contract supports the GSA Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement (CASE) with enabling the internal GSA Business Development Community to eliminate redundancies, increase efficiency, and deliver better value.
Softrams, the prime contract holder, offers innovative technology implementations and builds customer-centric services that are simple, intuitive and usable for a wide variety of industries that range from Healthcare, Defense, Aerospace, Agriculture and many more. The five-year GSA BI FUSION contract was awarded to the Softrams team under the CIO Modernization and Enterprise Transformation (COMET) BPA. The COMET BPA modernizes mission critical applications at GSA. It is the IT services vehicle for the FAS. COMET replaced the CIO Application, Maintenance, Enhancements and Operations (CAMEO) contract which GSA awarded in 2014. The GSA awarded it a spot on the Enterprise Data Information Management (EDIM) BPA where it supports the Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP) under a $35 million call order. Demaitre brings more than 20 years of experience leading human resources teams and driving human capital initiatives across HR functional areas in support of business objectives. Most recently, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Dovel Technologies leading Human Resources and Talent Acquisition initiatives. Prior to that role, she worked in several HR leadership roles for diverse sized professional services and technology organizations including CACI and Booz Allen Hamilton.
She also was named a Pinnacle Award finalist and one of Washington, D.C.’s Top HR Leaders of the Year by DCA Live. She has served on the board of the HR Alliance D.C. organization and is an active member of the George Mason University Professional Writing Advisory Board. HERNDON, VA – KHS Technologies, a Karsun Solutions and Mindcubed 8(a) Mentor-Protege Joint Venture, announced it was awarded a spot on the Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services III (STARS III) contract by the General Services Administration (GSA). A Best-in-Class (BIC), government-wide acquisition contract (GWAC), STARS III has a $50 billion ceiling over up to eight years. This second wave of awardees adds over 500 small businesses to the pool of vendors. The vehicle is designed to increase agency access to emerging technology via small businesses.
The STARS III GWAC saves time and money by reducing procurement lead time. Federal agencies may sole-source task orders up to the 8(a) competitive threshold. It is a pre-competed, easy-to-use contract with streamlined ordering procedures based on FAR 16.505. Under the GWAC there are no protests on orders under $10 million, except on the grounds that the order increases the scope, period or maximum value of the GWAC.
Leveraging exceptionally qualified 8(a) small-business industry partners, STARS III gives agencies quick access to emerging technology such as machine learning/artificial intelligence and robotic process automation (RPA). Through STARS III task orders agencies may now access experts in the Karsun Innovation Center, Karsun’s CMMI V2.0 Level 5 (DEV) methodology GoLean and MindCubed’s GRID™ enterprise-scale Big Data platform.
