Karsun Solutions was awarded a $2M prime contract by Headquarters, Department of Homeland Security to support implementation of its Balanced Workforce Strategy. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Balanced Workforce Strategy (BWS) is an initiative to identify the appropriate balance of federal and contractor employees required to achieve the DHS mission. DHS established the BWS Balanced Workforce Assessment Tool (BWAT) to undertake a thorough, repeatable, risk analysis to make workforce-planning decisions. DHS’ BWS System is part of an enterprise-wide transformation effort involving improvement of the BWS business processes and new software development. Karsun Solutions programmed, tested, and deployed the BWAT and built the associated secure rules engine that powers its decision analysis workflow. Karsun integrated them using Microsoft technologies comprising of Sharepoint, InfoPath and SQL Server Reporting Services.
