Karsun Solutions Chief Executive Officer Sundar Vaidyanathan spoke at the TiE DC Startup Workshop on Scaling and Growing Ventures on June 1, 2019 at the Tower Club in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This event brought together more experts and speakers, features an elevator pitch fest, and more. This workshop is hosted by TiE DC, a network of C-Level executives across the DC metro region. TiE is a non-profit, global community for entrepreneurs.
Sundar joined a panel on scaling teams, products, and solutions. He is the Co-founder and CEO of Karsun Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company, developing and executing long-term strategies, and driving business results. Under Sundar’s leadership, the company has experienced stable, continuous growth. In the short period since its founding, Karsun Solutions received multiple awards. These include rankings among the Inc. 5000, Washington Business Journal Fast 50, and Virginia Chamber Commerce Fantastic 50. Recently, Karsun Solutions announced it will open a new 50,000 square foot headquarters in Herndon, Virginia. This collaborative workspace supports hybrid for the the 400 plus people currently employed by the company.
Karsun Solutions is a government modernization firm serving customers at agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration, and General Services Administration. Its core competencies include Modern Software Development, Cloud Solutions, and Advanced Analytics. In April 2019, the company announced DHS awarded the $80 million FEMA Grants Management Modernization (GMM) BPA to Karsun Solutions. The GMM Program seeks to streamline grants management across the agency’s 40+ grant programs. Previously, Karsun Solutions was awarded the FAA Software Solution Delivery (SSD) five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a $145 million ceiling value. Under this contract, Karsun Solutions teams provide technical services in support of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Information Technology (FAA AIT). These support services assist in the implementation and continuing support of enterprise-wide software application and database development.
In addition to his leadership at Karsun, Sundar is active in the federal IT community and has served in leadership positions at technology-focused industry organizations such as the American Council of Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC). He currently serves on the board of ACT-IAC. In 2019, the Washington Business Journal presented Sundar with the publication’s Minority Business Leader Award.
