An Introduction to KNIME

After taking a short break from in-person events, our DataOps NoVa Meetup returned on August 20, 2020 with an introduction to KNIME. This next series is a fully virtual event. Returning to a monthly format beginning in August planned sessions will cover topics like data fabric, analytics foundations for MLOps, and vendor demos.

DataOps NoVa is a monthly Meetup designed to introduce best practices and tools to the data, analytics, and IT community in Northern Virginia. It launched alongside the opening of Karsun’s new Herndon HQ training center in 2019. The Karsun Innovation Center Data Practice hosts the event. Led by Shaunak Ashtaputre, an industry expert with more than 20 years of experience, the practice is an employee-centered team committed to melding DevSecOps practices with data integration resources into training and prototyping initiatives.

The first DataOps 101 series featured both Meetups and multi-day workshops. This first round of events covered topics ranging from security and encryption practices to a hands-on deep dive into the StreamSets data platform. The team shared a summary of that first workshop here. Meetup participants also have access to slides and other materials as members of the DataOps NoVa Meetup group.

The first session in this new virtual format was an introduction to KNIME led by practitioner Sidharth Ramesh. Meetup members tuned in to learn about this open-source data science environment. To participate members must first sign up on Meetup and join the DataOps NoVa group. Then they may RSVP for events like the DataOps NoVa KNIME Event. The Karsun DataOps NoVa team also uses the Meetup group to share resources and tools from the presentations.
